SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 27, 2025 – The Aleo Network Foundation and Provable are pleased to announce the network's integration with Google Cloud, designed to accelerate the development and adoption of zero-knowledge (ZK) applications within the web3 ecosystem. With this integration, Aleo becomes one of the first zero-knowledge and privacy-first Layer 1 blockchain networks to collaborate with Google Cloud, further solidifying its leadership in the growing ZK ecosystem.
As part of this strategic integration, Google Cloud will participate in the Aleo Network as a block-producing validator, strengthening the network's scalability and security. Additionally, Google Cloud will also collaborate with Aleo to develop an innovative dataset integration that brings Aleo's data into BigQuery, offering developers access to real-time insights and analytics. By indexing Aleo’s entire blockchain history, this integration enables seamless analysis of transactions, on-chain records, and other critical blockchain data, providing developers with deeper visibility into network activity and usage, and allowing them to use this data to build dApps.
"Google Cloud continues to see the value in supporting developers building on the web3 ecosystem, allowing them to build applications that will onboard more users to our ecosystem,” said Howard Wu, Co-Founder of Aleo Layer 1 & CEO of Provable. “We look forward to building out further integrations with Google Cloud's Web3 team, whether it’s enhancing our data set integration or developing compliant and confidential payment systems on the Google Cloud Platform."
The integration marks a significant advancement for the Aleo ecosystem by equipping developers with the tools to build scalable, secure, and privacy-preserving applications. By enabling access to Aleo's blockchain data through Google Cloud’s BigQuery, developers can leverage this data to build efficient dApps on the Aleo network, optimizing performance, ensuring security, and enhancing the user experience in the Web3 ecosystem.
Aleo’s benchmarks further highlight the advantages of Google Cloud, showing that its new ARM-based Axion VMs deliver a 10% performance boost over AWS Graviton for snarkVM workloads. These VMs process 10% more transactions at a similar price point, while offering a more stable environment than AWS. Aleo also cites significantly improved productivity with Google Cloud’s BigQuery, GKE, and Cloud SQL, offering a superior user experience that enhances ZK ecosystem development, setting it apart from AWS alternatives.
In addition, Web3 startups and founders building on the Aleo ecosystem can accelerate their growth through priority review in the Google for Startups Cloud Program and qualifying startups will receive up to $350,000 in Google Cloud credits.
This collaboration also opens the possibilities for Aleo to develop compliant and confidential payment rails built on Google Cloud, addressing critical challenges in the current Web3 payment ecosystem.
"Zero-knowledge proofs are a critical component of the future of technology as more blockchains look to support developers building compliant and confidential applications, like onchain payments, that users care about,” said Richard Widmann, Head of Strategy, Web3 at Google Cloud. “Aleo is at the forefront of this innovation, and we are pleased to collaborate with them on bringing the power of zero-knowledge proofs to decentralized application development."
Key Takeaways:
Aleo and Provable Collaborate to Scale the Layer 1 ZK Privacy-Focused Network with Google Cloud: Aleo becomes one of the first zero-knowledge and privacy-first Layer 1 blockchain networks to integrate with Google Cloud, reinforcing its leadership in the growing ZK ecosystem.
Google Cloud will participate in the Aleo network as a validator: Google Cloud will be a strategic validator provider for Aleo, helping ensure the network’s integrity and security while enhancing the scalability of ZK-powered applications.
New Dataset Integration in BigQuery: Google Cloud’s BigQuery will host Aleo blockchain data, enabling developers to easily access the chain data without the need to run a node themselves or rely on other data providers. This streamlined access empowers developers to build powerful analytics tools that uncover key insights, such as user usage and transaction patterns, providing valuable data for creating privacy-preserving, data-driven applications on Aleo.
Compliant and Confidential Web3 Payments: This collaboration sets the stage for Aleo to develop confidential and compliant Web3 payment systems, with the engineering build happening directly on Google Cloud.
